The Fort Mac fires are devastating beyond comprehension. First Alberta is subject to an NDP government, then the clueless masses elect that (frank)in idiot trudeau. when it seems like it can't possibly get any worse, Fort (frank)ing McMurray burns to the ground.

This will take generations to recover from.

Yeah its pretty weird not being back up there yet. At least mortgage lenders and car loan lenders are forgiving a few months of payments. Things could be really tight right now.

Yep, and I saw the other day that the response by citizens all around the country and the various levels of government was one of the largest, fastest mobilizations of aid money in response to a disaster. It was nice to see that even though there is often political differences and wrangling between regions of the country, in this moment partisan politics were put aside and Canadians just came together.

The region has not been destroyed by oilsands. You make actually want to do some research before making ridiculous comments. They have re claimed land that has been mined to better conditions than it was previously.

It's been absolutely amazing the support that everyone has given us. People are giving free use of homes, land and time to the people of fort mcmurray. It has been absolutely amazing.

There's no way to tear up the earth the way the they have by digging up the oil sand and have it better than it was prior to all that destruction. Humans don't do natural better than nature.

I'm not bashing Canada or the people of Fort McMurray, that would be absurd considering Americans consume a huge percentage of the world's energy relative to population. It's more a commentary on the way we're treating our planet...and it's not good.
